Luiz Carlos Trabuco: Bradesco Appoints New President

The current Chief Executive Officer of Banco Bradesco S.A. since 2009, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi is remaining in his executive position at least until March 12, 2018. He has been at the head of such a great establishment in Banco Bradesco for the past 9 years and change happened to occur roughly one year before his ten-year anniversary as CEO. The bank will be bringing in new leadership soon when Trabuco steps down.

Last year saw growth in the financial sector, however, there is still a transition happening with Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi and Octavio de Lazari Junior. Many bankers are positive about the state of the national economy for 2018, as low interest rates, and GDP growth between 2% and 3% it makes a tough argument for change. Lazari stresses how they must have a better year than the years prior. One thing is certain, Lazari and Trabuco both believe how important having good pension reform is for the overall benefit.

Luiz Trabuco started his banking career and professional activities at Bradesco on April 17, 1969. Trabuco was the Managing Director of Banco Bradesco S.A. back in March 1999 and after that department he proceeded to move on to various positions throughout the bank. At the time he had a major involvement in Private Pension plans, as he was the President of the National Association for Private Pension Plans from August 1994 to August 2000. This gave him reason to stress the continued commitment to pension reform. Currently his days as CEO will finally come to an end as Octavio de Lazari Junior will accept the position on March 12, 2018.

Luiz Trabuco states that Lazari Junior still must work hard when he is voted into his new position. Octavio Lazari spoke about his predecessors during a press conference to announce the change, by stating that Bradesco will be the victor in this particular situation. He mentions idea to renew the legacy left by Mr. Brandao as well as Luiz Carlos Trabuco. The choice for Trabuco’s replacement was not a simple and easy selection process though.

As explained by Trabuco, the choice for Bradesco to choose a new president took some time to happen, as there were over seven choices to choose from. In the end, his experience created to the sole positioning for Lazari. Bradesco even goes as far as to mention the individual merits of Lazari Junior. They are recognized by his companions and deserve all distinction as mentioned in a joint statement by Bradesco according to Lazari’s experience in the Credit area, where he was responsible for many segments, pushed him to higher ranks as he eventually become President of the Bradesco Seguros Group. With all this change, bankers overall are still optimistic of the national economy in 2018.
