The Chainsmokers Keep the Hits Coming

2018 has been a great year for The Chainsmokers and it seems to keep getting even better as the year goes on. They have already released 4 singles that have all been hits to their devoted fans. In 2016, the duo consisting of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall had 2 songs from their premier album, Memories… Do Not Open hit Billboard’s Top 10 Charts. The first of these songs, “Roses” featured Rozes and reached the number 6 spot in February followed by “Something Just Like This” featuring Coldplay reaching 3 in April. 2017 also included 2 more hits, “Paris” and “Don’t Let Me Down” featuring Daya.

While they may have received criticism after their 2016 MTV VMA performance of “Closer”, they have more than made up for it and proven their talent for live performances with banging shows at huge concerts like the Ultra Music Festival. Their songs have earned praise and fans all around the world, something that excites Drew Taggart and Alex Pall. They love seeing how their music has spread on social media as well as interacting with their fans.

The Chainsmokers have elicited rabid fandom including fans that have gone as far as getting their lyrics tattooed onto their bodies. To the Chainsmokers, this is one of the greatest forms of praise. They may have been concerned about how their fans would react to their new sound on their upcoming album, but it seems like they had nothing to worry about as each single they have released has set social media sites like Twitter ablaze with praise for the duo. Their song “Something Just Like This” with Coldplay has over 1 billion views on their official channel on Youtube. Not only is the music for “Something Just Like This” impressive, so is the video that accompanies it. It features a unique animation style that tells an interesting story about finding love as an ordinary person. The Chainsmokers continue to release songs that are relatable to their fans on a deep level and we hope they are around for years to come.
