Energy Transfer Chairman and CEO Kelcy Warren

Kelcy Warren was born in 1955 in Gladewater, Texas. When Warren was 12 years old, he started working odd jobs. He worked at a filling station. As he grew older, he began working in the oilfield. He served as a lineman servicing telephone systems for meter reading, assisted welders, built pipelines, and was a crew member that fixed oilfield leaks.

Kelcy Warren set out to achieve well in academics. Warren enrolled at the University of Texas in 1974. Dr Syed Qasim, Warren’s engineering professor, advised his pupil to apply for a scholarship. Warren enrolled, received the grant, and took home the first prize for his project on methane gas production.

Warren earned a degree in civil engineering in 1978. Lone Star Gas Firm employed him as a pipeline product designer. Several years later, he joined Endevco and transitioned into the industry’s business side. Warren and an associate bought Endevco in 1992 and renamed the company Cornerstone Natural Gas. Warren later became president of Energy Transfer Partners. Among the broadest and most well-diversified holdings of publicly listed energy ventures in the nation has been managed by Warren.

Warren has had tremendous job success. Warren counsels’ youthful individuals to be truthful with themselves whenever he interacts with them. Warren created an endowment in 1997 at his former University in memory of Professor Qasim. Warren served as the primary donor for Dallas’ Klyde Warren Park. In memory of his 14-year-old son, he gave the park his name.

Kelcy Warren has organized a yearly benefit for Cherokee Crossroads, Inc. The Ernst and Young Innovator of the Year Honor and the Hanlon Prize from the Gas Processors Distributors Organization have been given to Warren. He is a member of the Texas Commerce Hall of Fame and has additionally been on the board of The Lamplighter School. See related link for more information.
