Kelcy Warren

Kelcy Warren is an American billionaire, the chairman of Energy Transfer Partners L.P., and the Dallas Cowboys owner. His company is the largest pipeline transport operator in the United States.

Warren was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in civil engineering. He started his career as a professional engineer for Phillips Petroleum Company, where he remained for 10 years. He then served as president and CEO of Dresser Industries Inc., a large oilfield equipment and services business, for 20 years. Following its acquisition by Ingersoll Rand Inc., Warren became chairman of Ingersoll Rand Worldwide at Ingersoll Rand’s headquarters in Troy, New York

Kelcy Warren started his career in the energy industry at Phillips Petroleum Company, working as a professional engineer until 1990. In 1990, Warren orchestrated a highly successful hostile takeover attempt of Superior Oil Company, one of the largest oil businesses in the United States at the time. The acquisition was valued at $6.3 billion and marked Warren’s foray into corporate finance and business management.

Following his rise to chairman of Superior Energy Services Inc., Kelcy Warren merged several businesses to create Energy Transfer Partners L.P. Energy Transfer Partners is the largest pipeline transport operator in the United States.

Warren is also the chairman and owner of Dallas-based Energy Transfer Equity L.P., which owns Sunoco, Inc. and its subsidiaries, and Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company (Petc). He has been chairman and CEO of Energy Transfer Equity since 2010, holding both positions concurrently with his position at Energy Transfer Partners. As of February 2017, Kelcy Warren is worth $4.3 billion. He is a great man in this sector.
