a young age. The son of former quarterback Ken Roethlisberger, he inherited a

school quarterback that caught the attention of college scouts across the Midwest. 

Attending Miami University in Ohio, Ben Roethlisberger quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned
with. In his freshman year, he was named the Mid-American Conference Freshman
of the Year after throwing for over 3,100 yards and 25 touchdowns. His talent
only continued to flourish, culminating in a junior year where he amassed an
impressive 4,486 passing yards and 37 touchdowns, leading the RedHawks to a MAC
Championship and a GMAC Bowl victory. 

The Pittsburgh Steelers recognized Roethlisberger’s potential and selected him as the 11th
overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft. Little did they know that this young rookie
would go on to achieve great things. In his first year, Roethlisberger led the
team to a remarkable 15-1 record, with 13 wins credited to his name. This set a
new record for the best season by a rookie quarterback in NFL history at that
time. His ability to perform under pressure and his leadership qualities earned
him the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. 

Throughout his 18-year career, Roethlisberger continued to excel. He led the Pittsburgh Steelers to two Super Bowl victories, showcasing his
clutch performances and late-game heroics. With over 60,000 passing yards and
396 touchdowns, he solidified his place among the top quarterbacks in NFL
history. His remarkable durability and leadership skills were evident in his
240 appearances for the Steelers. 

On January 27, 2022, Roethlisberger announced his retirement from professional football. His
farewell was met with an outpouring of respect and admiration, as he left
behind a legacy that will be forever etched in football history.
