Amy’s Kitchen Believes That Every Day is An Adventure

Amy’s Kitchen was founded on the principal that every day is an adventure that makes life worth living. Amy’s Kitchen also wants to provide healthy and quality fuel to people to help them live their best lives every single day. Currently, Amy’s is proud to serve more than one million meals per day to people across the San Fransisco Bay area. The meals started flowing in 1978, when Rachel was looking for a way to purchase ready-made meals that were healthy and that replaced the trips to the grocery store while she was pregnant with on bedrest. Being unable to get to the store and needing to eat, these meals were more essential than ever to Rachel’s well-being and a healthy, happy pregnancy. Those meals had to be brought to Rachel rather than her going to get them herself, and it was from these humble beginnings that the idea for Amy’s Kitchen was born.

Amy’s came about after Rachel gave birth to her baby, and Rachel and Amy were working together to come up with the concept for a restaurant that made freshly-cooked meals for people and offered them at the convenience of a drive-through. All of this was offered without compensating the top qualities of their meals: nutrition and balance to meals that ensured that people were eating good food without giving up the convenience that made their new kitchen concept so special to start. Running their own business allowed these mothers to work around their children’s schedule, allowed them to spend time with their children, and ensure that their family was still making a productive living and was able to provide for themselves well into their children’s own futures.
